Oxford 14, August 2006
IAn ACNielsen survey conducted two months ago revealed that one in five Brits cited terrorism among their top two concerns in life. The twice-yearly global online survey which polls 23,500 consumers in 42 countries, also revealed that Brits ranked third globally for concern about terrorism.
"Britian has always featured in the top five global ranking for being most concerned about terrorism ever since 9/11. While consumers concern about health and crime have risen in the past year, its clear that that the threat of a terrorist attack on our soil is always lingering in peoples' minds," said Eleni Nicholas, Managing Director ACNielsen, UK and Ireland. "The latest terrorist foil in the UK last week only confirmed this concern is alive and well."
Crime also ranks among Britons top concerns with one in three consumers citing crime among their top two concerns in life - also ranking third globally for countries most concerned about crime behind South Africa and Belgium.
