The Nielsen Company announced today that it had secured an agreement to release Morrisons Key Account Data. Nielsen has worked closely with Morrisons since the supermarket giant’s takeover of Safeway in 2004 and is now very much the data provider of choice for the resurgent grocer. Jake Shepherd, Nielsen’s Marketing & Communications Director stated, ‘We are delighted to be able to bring Morrisons Key Account Data to our clients. This data really is a window into the Morrisons world and aligned to Nielsen’s industry expertise will enable our clients to strengthen their partnerships with Morrisons and better their understandings of the consumer.’
Nielsen will be offering clients both Marketing Data (attributed and segmented to client category and product definitions) and Trading Data (Morrisons-specific category definitions) as part of the agreement. Angus Maciver of Morrisons acknowledged the importance of the release, saying, ‘The time is right for us to make our data available to our suppliers. We are now well positioned for a more collaborative approach to managing our categories and Key Account Data is central to that.’
